Our Founder: Laura Louise Gilbert
I've always been drawn to solutions.
When I encounter a problem, I become consumed by finding an answer.
Panthor amplified that instinct.
I could see how transformative a complete, intelligently designed strength system could become, and once that vision existed, there was no letting go.
I often describe the journey as my own Sisyphus stone.
Push the boulder uphill.
Start again.
Refine.
Learn.
Repeat.
Anyone who has ever built something from nothing understands the feeling. You become so consumed by the vision that you'd crawl through fire to see it brought to life.
Our Story
Learning to Build
Before Panthor, Laura co-founded and helped grow a successful international sales agency, working with clients and partners around the world. The experience taught her the fundamentals of business, branding and communication, but success alone wasn't enough. Drawn by a desire for something more purposeful, she stepped away to reassess her path and explore a deeper connection to health, performance and personal development. It would prove to be the beginning of a very different journey.
Understanding Human Performance
Retraining as a personal trainer opened the door to a new world. Immersed in biomechanics, physiology and strength training, Laura discovered a natural ability to coach and inspire others. Working closely with clients deepened her understanding of movement and exposed the practical frustrations of conventional gym environments. Every day reinforced the same observation. Too much equipment. Too little versatility. Too many compromises. The search for a better solution had begun.
An Idea Worth Pursuing
Sometimes, the biggest ideas begin with a simple question. While training clients in London, Laura observed people instinctively adapting single-purpose machines beyond their intended use. One moment in particular stood out, watching a leg extension machine being repurposed for glute kickbacks. It revealed something fascinating. If people naturally sought more versatility, why were they surrounded by equipment designed to do only one thing? That thought became impossible to ignore. What started as a simple observation became an obsession, and eventually, the foundation for Panthor.
A Relentless Pursuit
Ideas are easy. Bringing them to life is not. Driven by a deep belief in resilience and high standards, Laura dedicated years to transforming the original vision into reality. Prototypes were built, dismantled and refined. New skills were learned. Problems became opportunities. Setbacks became lessons. She often describes the process as her "Sisyphus Stone"—pushing the boulder uphill, only to begin again. Engineering. Patents. Manufacturing. Branding. Photography. Design. Business. Panthor demanded more than perseverance. It demanded growth. And through the process, it taught her more about herself than she could ever have imagined.
Strength Of Will
Panthor was never created simply to build another piece of gym equipment. It was born from the belief that capability and beauty should coexist. That craftsmanship matters. That resilience matters. That strength extends far beyond the physical. Today, every Panthor system represents years of learning, sacrifice and relentless pursuit. More than a machine, it stands as a reminder that our greatest achievements rarely come from talent alone. They come from persistence. And knowing that others may discover the same sense of purpose, strength and direction through Panthor remains Laura's greatest reward.
sharing panthor with the world
With the pre-production model finally ready, we organised a full photoshoot and videography session to showcase the product. That moment felt like a culmination of my relentless pursuit. It wasn’t just an idea anymore, it was Panthor, ready to be shared with the world.
